PDF LW 7.5 or 8.0 Manuals

Hello There Everybody:

I just was wondering, I'm a student and I work with at school everyday, Lightwave 8.0. They don't have the manuals for the students to look at, and I was curious if I could somehow other than going to Newtek get a PDF Copy of either the 8.0 or the 7.5 Manuals. It would be a big help, and they don't allow people that don't have registered copies to download from Newtek anyway, so I'm kinda between a rock and a hard place. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm not askin for pirated software, just some reading material, to help me to understand Lightwave better, and learn faster.

OK Thats it for now:p

Thank You

Hehe,,, i would recommend you to buy a book,,, like inside lightwave 7.

You could always ask your school to download the pdf copy and install it, then you could make a copy of that and read it to your hearts content.

I have "Inside Lightwave [6]" and "Lightwave 6.5 Magic" and "Character Animation, Lightwave [6]". They still leave alot that only the manuals cover. As a matter of fact many times in books I've come to sentences, and disclaimers like, "If you don't know how to change the surface colors, refer to your Lightwave manuals" ... Now thats a simplified paraphrase, but you know what I mean. The books say right in the very beginings, "We've written this book to hopfully teach some helpful Lightwave tips and techniques, for learning the basic operations of the program please refer the manuals, we assume you already have a basic working knowledge of the program."
and I do have just that "a basic working knowledge" and then some. But there are just somethings in LW that you can't read about anywhere except in the manuals. Which is as it should be.

As far as "asking my school to download it" they feel that they have the 3 manuals from 6.5, and thats good enough. I ask you, is it?

I was just wanting a more updated version, for the more updated version. 8.0

Sounds like basic laziness on your schools part to me. Uploading a manual is a five minute job especially when they've probably got a broadband connection. They don't even have to install it for you, just give you the pdf file. If your school has got 8 and has installed it correctly then you should have the improved help utility.

inside lightwave 7 is the best book i think it doesnt say refer to manual anywere and it goes through everything for like 300 pages befor you start on step by step ( and i mean every step is detailed ) on doing something and it has a rather excellent tutorial on a head, i never even bother with the manual, manuals alright but i prefer the books as they go through them in step by step tutorials instead of just telling you which gets me confused when not seeing it being done in a project / part project

Hehe glad you agree,,, Sharp...

As for the improved Help utility,,, hmm guess i have to wait till i get my version 8 before i can try it out..

Dan Ablan's Inside LightWave 8 has been restructured slightly from the previous books too so it can sit more like a manual replacement instead of solely a techniques book. (ie: It contains the first few chapters as a Lightwave quickstart and overview of the toolsets in Modeller and Layout)...

Hello everybody:

The truth is that the school doesn't have LW 8.0 Manuals. I've tried all kinds of different alternative methods. I'm just looking for my own copies. Can anyone tell me how to get my own copies from somewhere of PDF's LW 8.0 Manuals, please. I would like to have my own copies, so lets not talk about what "books have" or how the school should have their own this or that. Can someone tell me please where I can download my own copies of the manuals? Thats all.

I know about LW 8.0's help files, and about magazines and other LW books. I'm not asking about them though. Just LW's 8.0 Manuals in PDF format to download. OK?

Please.

and

Thank You
Fuzzbutt.

It was published later than the program, at least I got the link later, that was the problem.
