Checkerboard in render problem?
Hi all, hope someone can help.
I have just started my first "logo animation" project (Like ABC NEWS tutorial, inside LW 7), and after viewing my first rendered sequence, I have got a checkerboard patern across my logo and background ?. is this something to do with reflection settings????. Don't seem to be able to get rid of it. Thanks Kriswbrd. |
If you're getting a checkerboard pattern in your renders then Lightwave is running in 'Discovery' (ie: Demo) mode. There's a number of reasons for this, either you've got hold of a copy without the dongle (in which case it assumes that its a demo copy), or your dongle drivers aren't installed correctly, or your dongle is fried.
If its a case of the dongle drivers not being installed correctly, then surf over to the Rainbow technologies website to get the latest drivers (www.rainbow.com). If you're reinstalling, make sure the dongle isn't inserted into the port until after the driver setup is complete otherwise it won't install correctly. |
Thanks Mark,
It is the DEMO version I got with my copy of Inside LW. I can stop trying to change the settings now !!! Kriswbrd |
There's a couple of other limitations with the demo version if I remember correctly. I think that its limited to models with no greater than 200 vertices, and layout might be save disabled for scene files too...
