Strato tutorial

I'm having a problem with the strato tutorial where I am working on the pick guard. I am doing the boolean operation to cut out the neck piece out of the pick guard. when I do the operation , the boolean window comes up but goes away immediately and nothing happens. I managed to get all the other operations done. I'm using v.8.0, is there some kind of bug problem with it? I haven't downloaded the first upgrade (8.1) I wonder if I am doing something wrong, or I need to do some kind of workaround to cut out the section? need some suggestions, Thanx

Try repositioning the objects slightly. Make sure you have the correct objects in the backround and foreground and that there isnt anything else there.

Johnny9ball; I am not sure what you mean. I did try remaking the cutter object a couple of times and and I believe you need to have the object you want shaped in the foreground and the cutter object in a background layer. Maybe I'll try a simple object like a simple box as the cutter and see what happens. I cut out the other holes one at a time and didn't have a problem. I don't have any thing else in an active background layer at the time.
