Project, Im a Noob
 

yea, i watch the movie Prince of Eygpt today, and i thought that would be cool if i made a movie about a Bible story, but i would need alot of help, since ive never used LW before. if you want to help me, just reply back.

Well i am ready to help, as long as credits are given. You can see some of my modelling work in this section,,, namely the dog and the spider.

Well basically i just thought of it, and i think im going to make the story of Samson, which is a guy that was incredible strong and killed 1000 men with the jawbone of a donkey, but his lover betrayed him and found his weakeness, and he took out 3000 philestines with his death. I havent really got anything planed yet, but i need help with basically everything since im not familar with LW and just started a couple of weeks ago. so basic everything from modeling to animating. lol. reply if it sounds somewhat interesting, if you want the whole story its in Judges 13-16 or something like that

... I dont get that... But sounds kinda cool. I could a little too!(again, we too should get credit as well);)

He means that the the story of Samson is in the book of Judges in the old testament of the bible chapters 13 through 16.

Count me in i guess, one thing that i won't be making is people though, thats my only weakness in LW :D Temples, buildings, etc. is fine with me.

BTW do you want to make a still scene or some sort of animation? I know most of the story so it won't be a problem with any part of it.

when exactly do u plan to start? If it is within the next two weeks, i have exams and wont be able to work with u guys much.:( After that, its all good!!!:D

I also wanted to add that i'm no good at modelling people so i'll do anything else but people...:)

Im still not sure when to get started, but like i said i want to make an actual movie, or close to it, so it will take a long time to complete so your always welcome zee. It also seems everyone sucks at doing people, so what exactly do each one of you want to do? ill try and get a storyboard or something posted in the next couple of weeks, im also gunna be busy this week

Hmm,, i wonder too why everyone is afraid of modelling humans... i know its too much tweaking and sometimes you need to start over again. But i am cool with modelling pretty much anything. I dont read the bible so a short explanation might be in order for me to understand the story. Guess the main character modelling is put to me then...:p

Oh ya,, i think instead of going for super realistic,, a real cartoony or good animation with well thought out camera shots and timing is a better choice, will help in the final rendering times. Modelling suttle deatails into shot might also do loads of help... I am thinking simple objects like books... chairs,..rocks...

I could do some of the random objects here and there in the scenes;)

I also like the idea of a slight cartoonish feeling to the movie. In which case we won't have to pay an insane amount of detail into stuff. any possible use of toon shaders???:rolleyes:

Storyboards will also help us along pretty well so go for it, Chillin!:)

yea that is what i was thinking, cartoony. but if you guys want to start stuff, the era of Samson is from 1085 to 1065 so he was killed when he was 20! if you want to look at how stuff looked back then im sure you can google it. or just be patient and ill try to get something put together

looks like a cool project to me. i am a christian, so it looks fun to me to help you. but in about 3 weeks i have to go on schools training period, so i don't have time.


so who is going to model and render those 1000 men??? :P

Hey I also am a believer in the one and only God of the universe. I would love to help out on this project. If you have time drop me a line and I can help you get started modeling in lw as I have some free tuts I could give you. Then we can help you out from there. I also am not too good at humans but im getting better. But I know of a way that those 100 or so men can be done. I have a vid tut on it from a guy named Larry Shultz it shows how to make just one object be duplicated as many times as needed and doesn’t slow down render times to bad. So I can help ya out there. Plus I have a pretty fast pc so I could render out some section of the project if you need me to. anyways I hope all is good and ill be tuning in everyday for updates Catch ya late.

well i'm also a noob in 3d :( but i really want to help when-ever i can ;)

i don't have any experience with modelling , texturing whatso-ever , so i think i can only do some simple stuff
