Video editing....
 

I think i'm going to set up my computers to use screamernet for network rendering, and now I want a good program for video editing, and i'm thinking of adobe premiere. I don't have somthing to edit videos with, so that is one reason I am looking at it, but I also need somthing that will take all the pictures I get from lightwave since I will be rendering on a network to picture sequences, and I need to turn those into a movie. So will premiere do the trick? Or will other adobe programs do it too?

Yup, I'd definately go with premiere ^_^ (but that's just my personal opinion)

You can open a folder (of images in sequence) as such, and as far as premiere is concerned, it will function as if the series of images was a video clip.

Yep. Premiere will definitely do the trick. Not the easiest of programs in the world to use mind you and the documentation sucks (like most Adobe software)...

You might also want to check out Pinnacle studio 9 as this also gets rated very highly...

I've never had luck with Pinnacle stuff. And when you delete them it hoses your registry pretty well too.

Instead of Premier, you may want to look at After Effects. It can do the compositing as well as putting out the video in a format you want. It really depends on what you're going to do wiht the video.

I have both premier and AE, and use AE much much more.

Lol - the best advice I guess is to try them all out and see which one sits best in your workflow.

For compositing stuff and effects I tend to use DFX+, and for final video mixdown use premiere. Never really managed to get along with After Effects.

Best option, try to see if you can get demo versions of the various pieces of software and see if you can find some basic tutorials for each attempting to do pretty much the same basic tasks - at least that way you'll get a comparative feel for each.

How do you import images into premier to make it into video :confused: . I have had it for a while(demo) and would like to figure it out, but I am so lost.

If you're referring to an image sequence, then go to your clip bin and right-click. Select Import/File...

Then select the first image of your sequence and ensure you've got the box checked that's labelled 'Numbered Stills'.
