New Tutorial
We would like to welcome David Mitchell to simply3dworld and introduce his first tutorial.
------------------------ Create a fun 3d dinosaur puzzle using Photoshop and Lightwave. This tutorial covers Photoshop techniques for selecting clean work paths and exporting EPS data for importing into Modeler. Lightwave techniques covered include modeling the bone parts, basic texturing, layer organization and putting it all together in Layout. ------------------------- http://www.simplymaya.com/kevin_private/finaldino.jpg Check the tutorial out HERE |

I admit that my site is bad,.. I threw this one together in a couple of hours and never took time to do more. My excuse is that I did web professionally for a couple of years and got burned out on it so I didn't want to put much time into my own site. But I will work on it and update it soon. |
hehe,,, :P hi there David. Hmm,, looks ok, i can understand about the web design part. Me too got that. So mine too is bad.
But as far as the models are concerned, are there any more apart from those on the site? Not all that appealing to me, Sorry people... No screaming at me alright!!! The character animation reels links are not working too. Is it the bandwidth? Kumar |
I'm really more of an animator but I do a bit of it all. I don't have anything too current on my site,.. for example that tank is 2 years old. The sushi is more current,.. maybe 8 months ago. I've taken down the reels because I'm redoing them.
I'll be working on some eye candy stuff soon. Anyway,.. I'm open to suggestions if you have any ideas for modeling tutes. |
Hmm,, well apart from a dragon tutorial i dont have much on my mind. I think a nice eye candy for a organic modelling will be nice. Something more that the creature tutorial. A nice high res modelling tutorial will be nice.
You dont have to show every little move. Kurt does not, he gives enough to get started and the very last tweaking he leaves it to the us to play around. but he does show in the next part how the tweaked model will look like. I like that. And you could continue the model into a texturing tutorial. That would sure hit the spot. |

Just another thought.. since you are more of a animator, then how about a small animation scene. No walks, you could continue the basic rigging and animation phillip did, and take it to the next level, ik/fk switching, pose to pose, then working on the curves. Using constraints. Something like that seems a good idea to me.
Or then again, logo animation with particals and some motion or visual fx type stuff can be a nice touch and also will be different than the other sites. |

philip will be finishing of the yoda - then we shall go from there as he is very busy with some projects right now.

i just looked at the Elephant-tutorial and that is excellent!!!
starts so simple and with so good result within a few minutes....well done David Mitchell |
The elephant tutorial looks great, but, at least on my computer, the audio seems to be out of sync with the video by about 10 seconds, with the video moving on to something else while he is still describing the previous step.
Any ideas on this, or is everybody else experiencing it? |
