Depth of Field
I am trying to make some photorealistic renders, and I have modeled and tektured everything, but the renders don't look right without DOF. The settings that Lightwave gives you just doesnt give me enough conrol and actually makes the scene worse. I need a plugin but do not know where to get one. It would be best if it were free. Any information would be much appreciated.

Here are a few options:
http://www.lwidof.net/ http://www.evasion3d.com/xd_lw_intro.html http://www.worley.com/polk/polk_confusion.html Also worley's fprime does nice DOF as well. There is also digital confusion which comes with LW. As well as Wavefilter as a post blur filter Most of these work best when used with LW's native DOF. There are quite a few options really. My favorite is XDOF2 from evasion3d. |
It sounds like you're looking for a plugin that can help enhance the depth of field (DOF) in your Lightwave renders. I understand the challenge of not getting enough control with the built-in settings, and it can definitely affect the realism of the scene. While there are several third-party plugins available, some of the most popular ones are paid, but you might also find free options that can offer more control over DOF. If you're interested in detailed guides on various topics, I also run a blog where I share information on how to do covid test on 2 year-old, offering step-by-step instructions for parents and caregivers. Feel free to check it out if you're interested!
