Clay Renders

I've seen quite a few vehicle models rendered in a "clay" texture/surface. I think it's an excellent way to track your progress and was wondering how it was done. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks:)

I am thinking you are refering to Global Illumination and the Radiosity... Use the properties in your light to set the rad,,, but if you want to fake it,, then the dome with a high value will work. Hmm theres is tutorials around,,, but i am not on the right machine today so just look around for faking Rad,,, and Dome Light.... You will find something...

Hope i am right,, if you are talking about the actual surfacing then i am off.;)

The best tutorial on how to make this clay-like effect is posted on the NewTek homepage. You can find it at:
