i have been working on an image for a few days and i have a problem no matter what i seem to do. if you look at the last render i did (below).... in the upper right corner you will see really light dots ? what is the caused by the bump, the light ,both or none of the above ? any help would be greatly appreciated

I would first go back into modeler and check the object in that area, you may have some polys facing the wrong way, or may nave picked up a slight deformation.

I will try looking closer and seeing, but check if it is a model problem.

reversed poly would be my first guess too....
Nice progress by the way !!!

Have you tried raising the AA?

actually looking at your image in the dark shows up a lot more of the problem than just in the top-right corner.

cover your hands around the screen, or if it's night, turn off all the lights, and look at the image again.

you can see these small dots down the length of that pipe.

make the surface for this pipe double-sided, and then re-render the scene. If you get a clean scene then you know it will be that you have some polys that have reversed faces.

do not keep the surface dbl-sided as this will cause the inside to be rendered and you cannot even see this so it is pointless.

thanks guys for the help .i messed with the bump for quite a while and that seems to fix the problem as for the dots going all the way down the pipe that is the rivets on the pipe i think it looks better now but im still working with it till i get it just right .thanks again ..............................
