To start things off, this is (c) Lego/Bionicle Group

Low Poly first -
Been meaning to model this Lego Bionicle for quite some time. I have two things done right now but I'm slowly starting to get everything together. After making the low poly I'm going to go in and make it high poly.

Well, looks dang good to me so far. And I don't think you can do this in LegoCAD either, or at least not with the Bionicle stuff. Any pics available of what you're modelling?

Looking very nice so far - any chance of seeing some wires? :ninja:

Wire 1

Sorry for all the questions here, but do you actually attach the points in the various component parts to make one big component or are you just building bits and sticking them together? For some strange reason, I always build things so everything is stuck to everything else and as a result, it takes me forever to do anything. Thanks for the wires! :)

For Sub-d obects i try to connect everything so it holds together. But with polys for the bionicles and legos it would be too hard to achieve that.

Looking good. Nice clean wires too.

How did you made the wireframe renders? just with photoshop? Or is there any option in lightwave to render it like this?

Looking good so far.

For some reason i get frustrated with this project because of all the intricate detail that the model has. But hopefully after i get the Droid/my entry finished and animated i'll try to come back and finish this sucker off as well.
When i get frustrated i lose all interest in the project :(

Because of it not being Sub-patched you can make LW Layout do the wire renders.
This is what you do.

-Load an object
-Open Item Properties (p)
-There's five tab's there click on 'Edges'
-and then i just ended up enabling all 5 boxes there
Silhouette Edges
Unshared Edges
Sharp Creases
Surface Borders
Other Edges

(I'm pretty sure you don't need all of them so if anything play around with them)
(BTW all props go to Philip on this cuz it's in his free tutorial on the Mclaren)
