I'm trying to model a ratchet wrench. I want to connect the head to the handle with a smooth slope or something. Not sure how to do it. See picture....

Nope, bridge is only available in 8.0.

would it be easier to draw the outline of the wrench and then extrude/bevel it to get the thickness?

instead of taking the two shapes and combining them.

ghDude has a very good point - although you could always try a Boolean Union if this is really what you want.....

On furthur reflection, I'd probably start by modeling the head, then lathe out the basic shape of the handle, bevel and stretch the end to line up with the socket head. :)

I have a suggestion using SubD. Try this link. It's quick on the fly made mini. But, hopefully will get on the right path, if you use SubD. No audio. You will need to be on DSL or Cable modem, because the file is around 1.7megs. Wait about 1 to 2 mins to load and you should see the video. Need Shockwave too. I will work on using a preloader in the future.

Good Luck.....

anyone interested, I changed the link to the actual avi file so, it will play in your media player with controls.

that's pretty cool, yeah the preloader would be nice...
also if there was a length bar or something...

hehehe, I was still staring at it, thinking it'd continue, but then realized you'd probably had stopped

ghDude,

Thanks,
LOL, yeah I know what you mean. Still learning alot about Director and Flash.

Ok, now I have add some counter to show how long the tut is. Still learning on how to add a Preloader to Director. I have one for Flash, but I do not know how to integrate them yet.

Basically, I hope when someone sees the tut, that it will give the basic understanding how to start and approach this type of object.
