10-sided die

I'm using LightWave 5.5 on Win2K and I need to model a 10-sided die with numbers 0 to 9 . I'm a novice modeler at best. Any suggestions on how to get into this project? Thanks.

Try creating a sphere, press 'n' for numeric options and enter 5 for sides and 2 for segments.

hope this helps.

Thanks for taking the time. The settings work fine. Is there a tutorial/book somewhere which can help with smoothing (a real die has softer faceting) and mapping engraved numbers? Either way, thanks for your help already.

If you want to have softer sides for your cube hit 'Shift+D' and click ok. This will add more polygons to your sides and it will constrain your sides for a softer look. Now hit 'Tab' to enable Sub-D mode. If its not soft enough then do 'Shift+D' again for more polys.
Hope this helps although i'm not sure if LW 5.5 had the Shift+D tool...

Not really answering your question - but at least it gives you a concept of a six sided die
