update

hey folks,

thought I'd give you another update on my whereabouts.
Having worked on 2 TV movies in Berlin during the last 9 1/2 months, we're close to finishing the second. Deadline for me is January 31st, on wich evening I'll have to catch a plane to Munich to start my work there... I'm booked for at least 11 months as a senior artist for shading and lighting for an animated full feature film (yes, for the big screen, yay! :D) That's all very exciting and equally time consuming, so sadly there's no new LW tutes coming from me. (plus I have to admit I have barely touched LW for over a year, doh)

I just had a glance at the interior lighting tute, and I really have to say: you don't want to miss that one! Seriously, the result simplyrocks.com :P

I want to greet (in no particular order):

Kevin, Dave, Chip, Cory, Johnny9ball, Dick/Endorphin (man I lost your number... care to try and contact me again?), Erwin... hope I didn't forget anyone :/

PS: from the studio I can't check my liquid.arts email, please use philip.meyer@gmx.de if you want to contact me

Hey Philip. Congratz on the getting to the big screen! Keep us updated on that.
And thanks for the kudos on the interior lighting tutorial.

Hey Phil - good to see you checking by still although a lot seems to have changed since you were last around.

Thanks a lot for your work on the earlier tutorials though - the McLaren has become a classic as has the Strat!

Hi Philip. Good to see you've managed to get the film gig. Keep us all updated on it as much as you can.

Good luck on finishing up the TV work ... it's never nice when deadline is looming....

All the best to you, and good luck on the new venture.

Philip your the origional SL bomb! Good Luck on your movies!

Johnny9ball! Where did you suddenly spring from? Good to know the old hands still look in here every so often.

From the dead! Well actually no just been working hard, going through computer upgrade hell, surgery, more computer problems, vacations, moving my brother from Minnesota to Nevada to live with me, and my darn dongle stopped working cause the port on back of my comp broke and I left it for way to long. I am going to order a USB dongle on Monday. I hate this huge IO dongle. :attn:

alrighty, here's a shader and lighting test render I did for the first movie I worked on last year, unfortunately due to (homegrown) time constraints (VFX Supervisors should "supervise", shouldn't they? :P ) we weren't able to keep the quality, oh well...

conventional lighting, no GI or similar

Tis a pity you're not doing the tutorials so much any more, Philip - a "thumping great big jet with cool light stuff" tutorial might go down very well indeed :)
