Sgt. Pepper

I realized at around video 6 that the Mclaren tutorial is a bit too much for me ... so I made this. After the free peppers tutorial here, I wanted to make an apple and was thinking about how to do one. Then I re-visited splinegod's free videos and an apple tutorial had just been posted! I also tried a banana but the texture isn't very good.

So here's my humble attempt.

Oops - I was going to comment on this a lot sooner but due to life events, haven't had much time (stupid life, always getting in the way of Lightwave). The modelling looks pretty darned good although I think the peppers may be a bit out of proportion to the fruit. As you've already said, textures aren't the best in the world, but still the modelling is fairly solid. Perhaps sink the stalk of the apple down a bit further to stop it looking too cherry-like?

Fallenswordsman,

I agree ... life is getting in the way of stuff. Anyhow, thanks for your comments. I am still a noob (as if that wasn't obvious) so I only post once in a while and hope I won't look like an idiot (of course everyone's very supportive here).

Yes, the apple does look like a cherry. I might go back and work on the models and in that case fix the stem. I agree that textures are not very good and that's totally cool with me because I'm not at all a graphic artist (couldn't draw a straight line) and I need lots of practice so I appreciate the feedback. And for the scale of the peppers, I had just done that tutorial and showed an old friend and then I told her I would try and apple and banana and just threw all together to make a quick scene ... so yeah, weird sizes.

Thanks a lot man and keep posting for us new guys to drool over.

Have a great weekend!

~ Elliott
