Jupiter!
 

Would anyone like to go to Jupiter with me? I am going to add a couple moons next. If anyone would like wallpaper let me know your desktop size I will render one out for ya.

If this is what I think it is....How in the world did you do it?

I'm thinking you didn't use a UV mapped sphere with a jupiter map, right? :)

Anyway, it's nice... especially the atmosphere glow that slowly dissolves... how did you do that? I always get a glowing ring the planet. It's not bad but if I want a bit of realism... :headbang:

Update....Added IO and Ganymede two of Jupiters moons. Also updated the starfield and tweaked the atmosphere edges a little.

Its a 4kx2k Jupiter image tweaked in photoshop.

not to be picky; but I don't think the moon on the left should be where it is. The bulk of the planet is is still there, it just isn't illuminated. Besides that, I think the texturing is terrific and the surrounding space is looking good! :p

Yeah, I know, the only place to put it so it doesn't get lost in the planet's texture:p
