Symmetry isn't working!
Symmetry isn't working!! This is really weird... I've tried quiting Lightwave and than start it again, but symmety still doesn't work. help me :/
|
symmetry wont work on points unless they r @ 100% the same position on either side of the axis-
what u can do is go to polygon selection mode, select the left half of the model, delete it , then using the mirror tool, mirror the right half again-( making sure you select the merge points checkbox) this should give you a perfectly symmetrical shape and symmetry should then work 100% |
ahhhhh, thaaank you! :attn:
If I'm modelling like a human head or something, if I mirrior one half won't it be like a bump, even if I merge the points? |
it shouldnt bump if all the points are merged..........
|
okay, thanks :D
|
You may occasionally get a bump when you split mirror and merge even if all the central points merege ok due to the various tensions on the edges - this usually happens if your mesh isn't distributed evenly. If this happens, depending on your mesh, you can bandglue the sets of polys on either side of the centre and this will get rid of any bump created - be careful though as you need to make sure that bandglue will work the way you expect it to...
