Character Head
1 Attachment(s)
It has been over a year since I last touched Lightwave what with other studies taking priority. Thought I would try building a characters head using Spline Patching.
Any crits and comments would be appreciated. Still a relative Newbie to the 3D world. |

I'm very very noobish, but that's not noobish I think, that's preatty nice. Could make some better 'lips' I think.
What is ' spline patching'? I can't even make a head... everytime I try it looks ugly and then I give up... |
The first thing you need to consider - especially if you are looking to make a lifelike head is to have some sort of background template to work from - a front and side view. Unlike things like cars and man-made things, this is going to be difficult to come across for humans - once you've done that, then getting proportions right is a lot easier.
At the moment, there is a lack of polys around the nostrils making them blend into the face a bit too much. Also you need to keep a close look on the general shape of the head too. Human heads are difficult so don't be disheartened. |
Is life-like what you are going for?
Looks good if your going for a more cartoony look. the missing elements give it character. |
