My Favorite Toy Challenge - Cicero

3 Attachment(s)
I'm here to bolster the forces for LIGHTWAVE 3D!

I'd wouldn't turn down an opportunity to prove its POWER!

My favorites toys growing up were computers, lego's, and Nintendo.
But one that will keep a special place are my WARHAMMER figurines.

I remember breaking out the box and realizing I had to paint them. I had worked very hard to get the money to buy the set, so I had to make the most of it! I pulled out my mothers paints and started working. luckily I inherited my mothers gifts and a grand hobby was born. I guess in a way it morphed into 3d, but it certainly was a time in my life I wouldn't trade.

Until I get a better camera you can enjoy this really blurry dark image of my own model, supplemented by far more sharp pictures I found on the internet.

For Lightwave!

Weapons

The base weapon geometry. Hopefully the rest of the model will be as easy!

Cool characters you got there. I didnt have any of these but I had a friend who did. These should be really fun to model and the texturing process will be a bit like your painting process in a way :) good luck...nice start on the weapons btw.

Nice start. I hope to see you really capture that "miniature" look in the final renders. Good luck.

Cool. I had a friend obsessed with them in college. They're hard to paint because they're so small.

Head

The head is alright. God bless symmetry and drag tool! I decided to have some fun and not box model, and instead built poly-by-poly, like the old days. The head took me about two hours. I really wanted the tongue and teeth part of the same geometry, just like the model, but it was a really big mess and would have taken far too long to get what I wanted. Still, I like it.

Thats a great start there bud. Hope you can get all this finished in time.

Clothes

Basic geometry for clothes. His tunic and Pants were killer easy compared to his head. I can see now why alot of artist create still art, it certainly is a lot faster to achieve the look you want.

Basic geometry

The basic geometry is finished. Turned out well and didn't take long. Maybe fours+ hours. This figure was a lot easier to pose because I didn't have to deal with weight maps.
