nice one :) how did you do it?
|
Hehe, secret ;)
It's updated... but not done :) |
Looks nice. Hmm seems like everybody's doing the trendy crystals nowadays...
Digi: try Niklas' crystal tut, and then take it into photoshop, play with the different Blending Modes. You can also adjust curves, gaussian blur, etc... |
Don't worry DM, you know we don't like secrets at SLW. It is a fairly simple technique. Nichlasindustries has a tutorial on it. Basically what you do is make a crazy, wild, L33t model, subpatch and send to layout. For the surface, set the color you want, luminosity to about 30% (I set mine to a gradient of 30% @ 0, 100% @ 45, 45% @ 90 with light incidence). Set a gradient on the transparency. Mine is 0% @ 0, 80% @ 90 with light incidence. Last thing to do is set additive transparency to about 35% to start, the higher the number, the more the shot glows. Save out as a 32-bit PNG and play with in Photoshop until you get the look you want.

Nice one Cory :)

The finished part is in the 'Finished' forum!
Go and look :) |
Nice images guys. I've never been a big fan of more abstract stuff, but these weird crystalline things are really beginning to grow on me...
|
But remember, if you want it as a wallpaper, it's also the 2D that counts!
