Render Settings for Avid Meridian

Does anybody know what the best render setting would be for a light wave scene to be used on an Avid Meridian? I have tried .tga sequqnces. But am not happy with the results it looks like the anti aliasing is not working. Thanks for any help.

It is possible that you can get crawling lines with high AA due to the way that LightWave interpolates between pixels. Essentitally you end up with bits of the image that 'falls between' the pixels and essentially ends up looking as though there is little or no AA in place.

I have sometimes found in the past that rendering to an image sequence at twice resolution without AA works better.

Simply post process the images to add a (very) slight Gaussian blur (say .2 - .5 pixels) and then when rendering to your movie format, simply reduce the image size down to the original output spec.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for that one Mark. I'm an old Bryce lad an thought (as in Bryce the higher the AA the better the result) - I had obviously noticed this was not the case but never bothered to find out why. It all makes sence now.

Thanks again.....
