animating characters

i dont know how about u...

but...

for now ive done only some simple walk cycles in LW... and some other 3d apps. is it only me or FK gives u better results thank IK? i think i can get much more power and control from FK technique.

anyone? im rendering short animation now... a walk cycle. ive done it with my first "real rig" with IK chain on the legs. i must say that rigging in LW is really fun :)

vertiis,

I kind of agree. Generally I tend to find that using a mixture of IK and FK works best - IK for the general movement, then FK for those bits that need to be precisely placed (such as fingers squeezing a neck or somesuch)...

thanks for ur reply Mark.

can u point me to any tutorials on creating hybrid rigs - FK/IK? i have never worked with rig like that...

btw... im finishing the rendering of my animation test... will post it in the wip section :) still some stuff to do with the movement... but... whatta hell ;)

regards,
v.
