Thanks for the comments. There are to 'eyes' on the map because I did
not know which part was the front and which was the back! So, I just painted both knowing I could cut off the back.

Here is how I made the eye, I dont like to mess with polar cordinates so
I just painted it all directly in the shape of the eye like this,

1. Export your map from LW as EPS and open it in Photoshop.

2. Create a new layer and call it White and paint over the entire map with white.

3. Turn down the opacity of the White layer to near 0 so you can see the
map again.

4. Create a new layer and call it pupil.

5. In the pupil layer drag out a small circle over the eye map where you think the pupil should be, roughly the center of the eye, and fill it with black.

6. Create a new layer and call it Iris.

7. Now select the outline of the pupil (command click the pupil layer) make
sure you are still in the Iris layer and the pupil is selected.

8. Fill the selection with a color of your choice, I choose an extremely pale
blue. With the fill still selected scale the Iris by using the scale units at the
top of the layout. You can make the Iris any size you want just make sure it
remains a perfect circle.

9. With the Iris still selected go to filter>add noise>uniform>mono and a low
setting like anywhere from 8 to 10.

10. Now blur the Iris with a motion blur 90 degress again very low setting like
1.5 to 3.0.

11. With the Iris still selected create a new layer and call it Iris Lines and fill
the selection with a medium grey.

12. Go to filter>add noise>mono and a low setting like 8 to 10.

13. Now go to filter>blur>radial blur be sure to check the box next to ZOOM and blur it by 100%.

14. Now go to Levels and slide the left arrow way over to the right and
pull the right arrow in toward the left one, you should see what is happing
here; we are creating the appearance of tissue in the Iris. Play with this
setting until you get what you like.

15. Set this layer to Multiply; you may find that you have to also turn down
the opacity in this layer but that is up to you.

(If you cant feel how the eye is comming along just turn up the opacity in
the white layer and it will help)

16. Create a new layer and call it Jaundice (just kidding) I called it yellow and
drag out a circle that covers roughly half the eye.

17. Set your forground color to white and background color to yellow and
use filter>render>clouds, you may need to repeat the clouds until you achieve a decent contrast.

18. Give this layer a small blur and turn the opacity down until you can hardly see it, I mean hardly!

19. Create a new layer call it Blood Shot or whatever you like.

20. Create two new horizontal guides and drag them to both the top
and bottom of the eye map, this is so your next circle is sized correctly.

21. Working in the bloodshot layer make sure snapt to guides is on and
drag out a circle over the entire eye . You will have to move the circle to
line it up correctly.

22. Now you have to create a custom gradient. Set your forground color
as white and background color as red, dont make the red too dark!

23. Select the gradient tool and select forground to transparent. Now
double click the gradient bar to bring up the edit gradient menu. All you
have to do is slide the left two sliders of the gradient all the way to the
right and the right two sliders all the way to the left, easy!

24. Click ok or you can make this a permanent gradient by saving it either
way. Working in the bood shot layer(hopefully your cirlce is still there)
select radial gradient and using your new gradient drag out from the pupil
to just past the eye. You may want to play with this to get the right look.

25. Go to the pupil layer and blur the pupil a bit, like 1.5 to 3.0.

26. Select the Iris and make a new layer call it Iris shadow, go to selection modify expand by about 5 and fill the selection with a darker verion of the
Iris.

27. Select the Iris again and making sure you are in the Iris Shadow layer
hit delete. You may need to bring down the opacity of the shadow; also I used the smudge tool on the shadow to add to the realism.

Thats how I made my eye, of course it could use some serious tweeking and
youll see ways to improve but thats the base of it. There are alot of good
tuts on the web but like I said before I hate dealing with polar cordinates so
this works for me.

Hope this helps.

selection with a darker version of your Iris.
