But that's the problem isn't it. You have to open up Lightwave, go through a set of menus and then navigate round the explorer Open File dialog to find your object, if you have several with similar names then you won't even be sure it's the right one until it's opened.

The idea with K3D is to give you a very fast way of viewing any objects on your filesystem. You can double-click a .lwo file anywhere in Explorer to see it immediately in K3D, then you can use the Page Up/Down keys to browse other files in the same directoy. It's instant feedback like this that people want (like FPrime!), I know how annoying i find it having to load modeller up everytime i want to see an object.

Yep and it's pants. Sorry but it is. Try loading a few objects in it then try a few in K3D, you'll soon see the difference.
