suggestions on lighting rooms ? any good tips on doing that,

i have a room with 9 sides and 9 doors and a master control panel setup in the middle, with 9 upright beams that hold the walls and ceiling, and i was wondering what would be the best lighting, point light or area lights or the linear lights with falloff and how many i should use.

its a project i am working on and i am having a hard time getting the lighting to look good

shuold i also use negative lights also ?
