Well heres ashot with GI added. Its going to still have a lot dont to it to refine the lighting and colors and such... Im waiting for creative word from the company its for before going further in that department. Im going to have to make 15 scenes like this (arrgh) but its fun. I really wanted to make most of the props look lie straight paper cutouts. I also wanted the more bulky props to feel kindof like they were folded paper. I just sketch the profile of the objects in photoshop then I do one of two things... for the big bulky props I actually trace the pic with points so I can properly extrude them. The small more 2d props are done with simple transparency mapping. It helps with render time a little i guess but mainly it just gives the objects a real crisp clean cutout look. The scene really comes to life when rendered very large. For some reason it just looks better when you can see all the little details ofthe drawings. I also kept it all pretty sketchy and simple looking because I wanted it to seem as if anyone cold have drawn it and cut it out, not nesessarily an architect... im still wondering what to do with the place where the walls and floor meet... I might draw a line there or something, well have to see... also, Im goingto refine the true 3d objects to make them more cut out looking... the original reason for this was I was going to marry 3d/ 2d and real photos. Anyway. Im talking too much. Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Later.
