Looks really good. The arm where it meets the shell looks a little odd, but apart from that - can't really criticise it.

As for texturing, I'd try UV mapping it and then painting with something like Deep Paint rather than using a true 3D paint program like zBrush - purely from the standpoint that if you want to animate him, then the less geometry you have - the better...
