At this point I had decided, and as suggested by others, that the dark canopy just doesn't look right. The canopy needs to be clear, but if it is then you can see inside... so... I started on the pilot and the cockpit!
Here's the "completed" pilot. I'll add the oxygen hose and com wire after I fit him in the plane.
