I also started a few month ago to play around with LW, but without any books or tutorials itīs nearly impossible to scratch the surface in my opinion
So I searched the web for tuts and most people say that the following link is the best ressource for them.

This site is regularly updated with the newest tutorials found on the net. There are lots of easy of beginner tutorials which should be good to start with.
I also bought some books, which are really helpful
1.Dan Ablanīs Inside LW7 (even Inside 6 could be useful if you use LW7.5 and this one is aleready very cheap)
2.Lightwave Applied 6.5&7
If anybody knows any other good books for beginners plz tell me
(Iīm always looking for new reading stuff)
