I agree, its really a good tutorial.. I tried it out and its really easy and fast, however I think all techniques has its strength, for example spline patching gives you a more perfected shape and you can controll it easier ( atleast I think so )..
anyways, this is about 2 hours modelling and I tell you thats REALLY fast for being me
