Wink Starting the Torso

Hmm, well i think that i am a noob. Guess i was working with lightwave daily and doing projects that was way out of my league that gave me some skills. The dragon model i uploaded was my first real project that i did. At first was really crazy but i stuck with it and it turned out great.

So back to todays little update, got the basic torso going. Simple box modelling with 4 seg at the y and 2 on the z, then just shape your pecks, then smooth shift the bottom and drag points around till i got this.

Talking Skull Logo

Well i know that i need to finish up the torso and all, but was tempted at doing a skull logo for maybe the belt or gaunlets, or something else. But surely will use this somewhere. Dont really want a realistic looking one.

Hmm, guess i got a little distracted thats all.

Oh ya and this started with pen and extended its way to this.

Default Back to the Torso

Well after yesterdays nights little distraction, today's update is the torso... Hmm great as the weekend is here and i am totally free to concerntrate on this, so hopefully i will have more updates today.

Time check.. Its 2.30pm, this pic is around 2 hours into the torso. Tweaked a lot. And reverted, to tweak again. So here is what i did, Smooth shift around 2 times to get the shoulder, 4 times to get the arms. Smooth shift the hip around 2 times, turn off sym, and then smooth shift 6 times to get the legs, Smooth sift here and there for details.

Time check says its 5pm. Just finished the hands. Box modelling and smooth shifting around a lot gave me this.

Default The full body

Well here is the last image for the 2 and a half hours that i spent on the torso, joined the feet and hands.

The head is not attached as the points are more than the neck, so i just kind of placed it neatly. By the way does that matter when you animate it???

Ok think i will take a break and start to think about armour and other scene deatils. Or maybe i should start the texturing,,,,, MAN i hate to texture,,, cause not good at it. Well we will see what happens.

Very nice modelling there Kumar. I'd suggest taking another quick look at the finger and toe nails though. They look a little flat and round like somene's been at your character with a lumphammer

Smile Skulls

Hmm, thanks Mark, Guess i might get that later.

So time check now tells me its nearly 11pm,,,, hehe hope this freaks out someone. Well i decided to start modelling the other things he might be wearing. Hmm, so i modelled a low detail skull and put it around a chain of some sorts. Dont think i need a very detailed skull,,,,, maybe later when i further develop the character. The skull is quite easy to make, i started at the eye scokets and then extended and drag points along the way.

I know that he is starting to look tribal and all, but i do intend to give him armour not a grass skirt. Also i am thininking of an unusual weapon. Any ideas from you guys??? Think thats all for today

Awesome progress on your barbarian

I would like to see him with an axe type weapon.... where one side is an axe and other side is like a spear
just a suggestion
