heres a little update.
i think i'll take a few pollys out fron the highlighted area as there just from when i mirrored the half i made. the counts upto 1400 so far.

Definitely looking good there... Interesting that you've elected to model the buckles and straps ... I'd have thought that on a low poly model these would better be served by textures rather than using so many polys... Still, cant' fault it so far...

nice,

maybe he's a got a little bit of a thin upper body for his legs tho.

i dont know if the cloth will be covereing them but the buster has 2 holes near the handle.
