Unhappy this is probably a dumb question lol

all i need to know is how to take a screenshot of modeler or layout into photoshop so that i can use it as a reference when i have a problem i can show someone excatly where

Do you must have a "print screen" on your keyboard.
But i use this one.

Open photoshop then open modeler and hit 0 on the numric pad over the axis you want to take the shot with. Hit d and get rid of anything you dont want to see like grid normals and stuff. Hit print screen then open photoshop and hit ctrl-n choose ok then hit ctrl-v and poof you have a screenshot to work with.
