Default Question regarding DVDs

Just curious since I'm going to purchase the cellphone DVD. I've bought similar tutorials that come on DVD's but are just quicktime movies or AVI files that I have to play on my computer. Are these tutorials actual DVDs that I can play on my television and follow along.

Thanks

they are divx movies, some dvd players will play but most will have to watch via pc - better this way as most peopel prefer to watch a bit then follow the tutorial.

Default DIVX

I think VLC player will convert those to quicktimes for Macintosh. Just personal preference, but I prefer the conventional dvd, that way I don't have to jump from quicktime to lightwave and back to do the tutorials. I suppose I can just convert the movies and cobble something together inside iDVD or something.

Only issue you may get into would be compression. Most DVDs have very little cocmpression applied to the video while Divx is a very efficient compression based medium.

Just wanted to point it out that it may have an effect. I'm not a DVD expert, my partner does that.
