Default Event Particle Systems

I have a character that disappears in a puff of smoke and re appears in the same way. I have the particle system set-up to react to an event object which in turn is linked to the scale of the character, the problem is that this only works for the intial impact, I need the particles to re-emit for every collision instance of the event object. Is there some way to reset the particle system after an event without getting down and dirty with coding? I know I could just keyframe each puff, but part of the angle of my project is to study the way in which tasks can be automated in Lightwave. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's ok, I was just being daft. Since the collision objects were finishing over the emitter, it was spewing out all of its particle limit in one go. D'oh!! :headbang:
