Talking May/June - Noob - DuoDreamer

Hi all, I've been watching these contests for a while, but have never felt like I knew enough to try and entry. I have a pretty simple Robotech model that I'm learning to skin on, based on an old Quake2 player model. I don't have a rig for it yet, I'm still reading about rigging and bones and such. I hope to have two animations at the end of this; one transforming from a jet to a robot, and vice versa (sequence), and a walk/run cycle for the robot mode.

I've worked in the games industry on the programming side, so I know the engine side of character animation. I really want to get into the art side. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask!
