Default Cartoon Snail

Hi,

This is my first wip on this site.

This is a cartoon style snail that will be used in a short animation.

The model only has to be simple, but does anyone have any suggestions on improving the model before i start texturing?

He looks cool.. If its going to be used in closeup shots like this one maybe some more geometry on the head would be good.. also I think the shell itself looks a little small compared to the snail but maybe thats how its supposed to be.. good work anyways! looking forward to seeing him textured

btw, welcome to SLW, hope you will enjoy yourself here.

Thanks DigiMatt,

I've made the shell a little bigger, it was a bit too small. I've attached a wireframe view this time. I would be interested in any advice on what i can improve on the head. This is the first model i've created without any reference or tutorials

Looks good, Rincewind - I have to confess that despite all my comments on this site, I still haven't posted any of my WIPs yet - maybe I should rectify that at some point.
Is this a box modelled character you've done here? I'm just assuming it is judging by the shape you've got for the main body.
As for improving the head - what are you looking to improve about it? I think it looks pretty good as it is. The teeth remind me a bit of the Wallace and Gromit style teeth - not a bad thing by any means!

I love the Wallace and gromit feel to it! I think you should add a small tail and maybe just a little more geometry around the eyes to help with the blinking morph you may set up....I think it's very cute, good work!

Thanks for the comments guys

quaoar: There is actually a small tail, but it can't be seen frm the angle i've posted. I'll put a better angle on the next update.
