Background colors
this could be a awfully newbie question, but here we go:
I've made a nice model and rendered it aganist a black background. That's all ok. However, the picture needs to have a white background. But when I change the background color, the model (since it's pretty glossy and a bit reflective) simply turns pale from the ambient color. I'd like to retain the darker, more saturated color that the model had against a black background, while having a white background instead. Can this be done in lightwave, or do I need to do it in photoshop? Last edited by drdoe; 04-06-2004 at 02:18 PM. |

Hello Drdoe,
I had the same trouble once, you will need to adjust the texture properties in lightwave, change the specularity, reflection and glossiness, maybe also diffuse. keep testing and you will soon get the object to look as you wish with the white background. Hope you get it sorted OzWOlf |

Hmm,, the photoshop solution would be to save the alpha of the image rendered and then go into photoshop and do the magic there. Or you can just add a plain white image as the background as a composite rather than the gradient background. This way you still retain the colors.

thnx, guys
I think I try photoshop first and see what I end up with. I'd rather not change the texture properties too much, because it took me a while to make it look as it does now (supposed to be laquered wood), but if I must then I must. anyway, I try it out. Thnx again |
