real dumb lightwave problem
dudes
i have a real dumb lightwave problem I have a photoshop file image that i am placing on my lunar rover tire - the image, no matter how tall it is it wraps half way around the circle, then mirrors itself on the opposite side - i have tried every setting and scaled it every whichway and it still mirrors itself on the other side - can either of you "lightwave gurus" tell me what dopey thing i am doing wrong???

There is no such thing as a stupid question.
I am to stupid to know the answer for you. Take a screen shot so we can see what you mean exactly.

Hey there, here is the image..... as you can see the image mirrors at the center. We've tried rebuilding the mesh, UV mapping scaling the texture..... it's nuts......

May be obvious, but in the texture edge options are the Width and Height tile options both set to repeat ? Also, what sort of mapping are you using?

Hi Mark, thanks for the reply.... We've tried all different projections.... we set height to 'edge" and then back to repeat and the same goes for width....... It's so stoopid..... I'm totally stumped....lol.... When my buddy asked me to help him with this little texturing problem I thought it'd be fixed in a second.... now I'm spending my time frigging texturing cylinders and cut spheres to see what works..YARRGH!!!! * pulls hair out*

first make sure you chack it in renders not only the textured openGL view; that one can show wrong results.
then use a cylindrical projection with a wrap amount of 1 and auto size the texture, that should fix it. if that doesn't, kemme take a look at the file
