Nice textures.

If you are in the shit when it comes to lighting, let me recommend a great book, although v8 is out now, I heavily rely on "Lightwave 3D 7.5 Lighting" by Nicholas Boughen.

My lighting was ok, but the book really taught me a lot about light, and now I have noticed myself looking around a lot more at light in the real world.

Within a matter of days of reading the book my whole lighting setup changed, and I started to properly plan a scenes lighting, and it really works.

Great book, good read, although I would have liked to see more detail. It is aimed at an intermediate reader as some of the thinking get testy, lol, but I strongly advise it if you are serious about LW.

For a scene that is set outdoors, you have your main light (the sun) but then you'll need a fill light of blue for the light that is bouncing back from the sky dome. Your fire, obviously, will add light to the scene.

Lots to consider in way of lighting.

I know this is a competition, but who cares, if you need any advise on lighting I'd be happy to help.

Regards,

~~CM!

equinox: total poly count is 4389
the building on the left has: 3171 polys
and
the one on the right has:733

CrazyMerlin: Thanks for the info. I have looked at buying that book before. I have a pretty good handle on lighting. I just haven't started it yet. Right now I'm just modelling and texturing.
