Last update for today...
Showing everything together and with color (that isn't final).
There is still some modeling left to do (especially the bottom part of the Nazgul) but I just wanted to give it colors. I don't think I'll be having very much time to work on it tomarrow so don't worry if there is no update. :)

Hi there chrispo,,,,,, Really nice animation, simple but funny characters. Really amazing, i was really amused.

Kvaalen 23-12-2003 09:36 AM

Ummm.... Chrispo started his own thread for comments, lets keep this one on topic:

I started texturing. I think I'm finished with these parts (they look much better close up). Now what is left is to pose and texture the beast. Then I'll have to fix the horrible lighting. :)

voices3d 26-12-2003 10:25 AM

hehe--- love the textures

Thanks voices. The problem is that the textures aren't very visible unless it is a closeup.

Well here is where I am now... I really don't like the beast texture, but I can't tell why. If anyone has any tips for it I'd really appriciate them.

I still have to change the neck and tail pose a bit and make a ton of presents behind the nazgul on the beast.

Since it is almost finished (looks like I'll finnish it on time even though I started late). I'd really like to hear comments from you guys on how to make it better.

Also do you guys think I should make the key light stonger.

BTW, the image looks much better if you are in a dark room. :)

I'd be tempted to turn the Nazgul Rider around slightly. It looks as if he's riding side saddle at present.

Kvaalen 28-12-2003 11:35 AM

Thanks for pointing it out.
I made him like that since I was trying to keep faithful to the sketch I made (you'll have to go back a page). IMO, it looks good in the sketch, but not in the 3D image.

I've changed the lighting a bit, the pose of the beast, and turned the Nazguls knees a little since my last update but I'm afraid I won't have time to turn himself around. That would mean having to redo the chains and a decent amount of the cloth too.

I won't be having time to work on this today, and I would like to finnish it by tomarrow so I can have it render a big render during the night.

BTW, could you guys please tell me if you think I should add presents on the back of the beast? (Like Santa Clause.)
I like the idea, but I can't think of anyway to put them there without it looking bad (wrecking the image).

Mark 28-12-2003 11:58 AM

How about just placing a sack with a few presents poking out of the top behind the rider?

kumar 29-12-2003 06:14 AM

I agree with the side sitting look. But you can of course give him a turned neck facing the camera and with one finger pointing at the camera,,, it will be even more cool.

Mark: Yeah, I tried that but I don't think it looks good. It seems to wreck the image. But then the image looks a little simple without them. I put them in the image below. Please tell me if you think I should take them out or leave them in.

Kumar: I agree with you and mark but if I do that I'll have to redo the chains and quite a bit of his cloth. I thought I'd be able to work on it today but I guess I won't after all (I'm not going to be home most of the day). I was hoping to finnish it by today and leave it to render during the night, but I guess I'll finish it tommarow and leave it rendering tommarow night.

So I hope to have him turned in my next update. :)

I kinda like it with the sack of presents in there. Lends it more of a christmassy feel. Give the actual beast a red nose too - really hammer the point home :)

LOL! Did that. I'm wondering if I should make it a bit brighter.

Well it didn't take as long as I thought it would to change his position.

If you guys have any more tips please tell me since I'm hopeing to create the final big render very soon.

Do you guys think the white fur around his face should be whiter?
