Default Nov/Dec - Wormtoungue - Matrix Style - Kvaalen - Norm

With so many people in this challenge I couldn't resist.
I can't promise many or fast updates, but it is two months long so it doesn't matter.

I'll be working on Wormtoungue (or Grima) and I don't know what item I'll make that characterizes him so I'd gladly hear some suggestions.

The style is sort of like Matrix style (I know they didn't make up the style, but I couldn't think of a better name for it) but it is going to be cartoonish.

I'm not using any reference from the movie.

I'm not very sure about the hair, everyone in middle earth seems to have long hair but his looks too good on him.

C&C are welcome!

I'm afraid that this is going to be all the updates for this weekend.
But I'll work some more on it next weekend.

I'd love to hear any ideas or suggetions since I'm not sure what I should model next or if I should start texturing and rigging him.

BTW, does anyone know why the [IMG] code is off?!?

Do you have an overall script/flow for the animation yet as this might lend some thoughts on how to proceed.

If not, then I'd be tempted to drop in a quick rig and have a play with some ideas for animating and then sit back and see what comes to mind...

Thanks guys!

Mark: We are supposed to create an animation? I din't know that. I don't have any script or idea yet. I guess I'll think of something before I continue then.

You don't have to create an animation just a still will do.

from the Challenge guidelines
1) It can be high-res or game low-res. Textures, rigging, animation/posing, etc is NOT required.
Sorry if I worried you there ... my bad :o

Ah! LOL!

I think it will be nice to have some sort of matrix style fighting, running or jumping over roof tops.

Next weekend I'll probably work on the cloth a little more so that it can be animated better and do some tweaking here and there. Then I'll rig it an all.

I'm very tempted to wait for [8] to do the rigging and cloth.
We'll see.
BTW, about rigging in [8]. There will be an option to save rigs and reuse them later on a different model.
You scale the rig to the right size and move the joints around. It'll keep all the expressions and everything. Sounds great!

Thanks! Now that you mention it I see that the lips really look like Ozzys.

Here an update, redid the boots (the ones before were temporarly taken from an older model just so he'll have some feet ), added gloves, tweaked his hair and face a bit.

Unless someone has any better idea, I'm going to start rigging and texturing.

C&C are (ofcourse) welcome!

I rigged the character (I know there are stil some minor deformation problems that will be fixed) and gave him some textures that still need tweaking.

The cloth deformations is just bones but since LW[8] is supposed to come out before the end of this challenge I thouhgt I'll try out the new dynamics on this, for the time being I'm leaving the cloth like this.

A couple views:

pretty neat. Right now, there's nothing that would really indicate that it's Wormtongue... hmm, what could signify him?

Well, in the movie, I think he has really really black hair, and extremely white skin, almost as though he is never in the light.

Also, doesn't he have a mole or wart somewhere on his face?
