Nov/Dec-Character-Humor?-Foodstamp-Noob
Well ill join into this challenge.
I have only been using LW for...ummm a week now. But Philip's face modeling tutorial helped me a lot. THX Philip :-) I will be trying to model Gollum. Im also going to ask some serious questions :-) And the reason for the " Humor? " in my subject is that i think my model is going to be funny. Or maybe i should start with the "Ring" :-) |

And here is a small update. I havent had much time....Been bussy with Web sites.
How can i get it nice and smooth in Layout? I want as much poly's as possible. So it looks better. |
its coming on very well mate!! good stuff
|
Looking good so far there foodstamp. Couple of points:
1. In order to gain as many subd's as possible in layout, go to the object properties panel and set the Render subpatch level to around 8 or 10 (remember though that this will hit your render times the more you increase this value). 2. In the image you've posted so far, it appears as though you have a definite crease down the middle of the object. I'd be tempted to cut one half of the model away and mirror the remaining half. Perform a merge points here and that should give you a much smoother image (assuming all the middle points lie on the X=0 axis). You can then move individual points to make the model more asymmetrical. Probably teaching my Grandmother to suck eggs here, but just my $0.02 worth. |
Mark... The reason for the crease in the middle is that i just did a quick mirror to get a screen shot for this site. I will make it better when im done with the whole head
And thx for the tip on the subpatch level :-) I found another little tool that makes it look smoother.... I dont know what its called but it works so i am going to start over with my model to get more detail into it. |
