Hi Guys

This is my second attempt at a female character model ( my first is locked away someplace no one will ever find it , it so bad !!! )

No textures yet, and I'm not happy with the boots, so these are just screen grabs from modeler.

Any crits welcome :)

Scott

Well done - that's a very economical mesh and an authentic looking body shape. Can't see the hands too well - how about a render? Not an easy thing to do - though maybe work on refining the breasts a little more, they look strangely flat. Refreshing to see you've avoided the usual adolescent Lara Croft stereotype :)

...then again, judging from your name you probably won't need it anymore :D

Thanks, the chest area was meant to be a little flat as the top shes wearing was meant to be tight and flattening the chest area, but looking at it, I think your right, I've gone a little too far.I'll take a look at this. I've included some shots of the hands here. I'll render it when the texturing is done, still playing around with the UV maps :)

Again, thank you. Your McClaren tutorial rocks, hurry with part four please

Hey there:

Looking good so far - I think the back could do with a bit more muscular definition. Its looking a bit flat. The creases in the palm of the hand look a bit too deep and pinched too.

Heh - I've done the same with my first human body models - all nicely hidden away - but I do still keep them just to show myself how truly terrible I once was.

Fallenswordsman - thanks, it's great having another pair of eyes looking at something, I'll definitely define the back better and sort the hand, the hand is still pretty rough and needs some more detail on the knuckles and fingers, ah well ... back to tweaking !:p

I think hands are about the next most difficult thing to get right after ears - especially with the folding of the skin at the joints. The thumb is a bit stumpy, but then I do have a friend who has a stumpy thumb just like that! Plus if you're feeling particularly masochistic and want to end up pulling out your hair, you could try making the little webs between the fingers. Best of luck with it.
