your posts never fail to make me think that I'm taking too long to learn lightwave...

Hi,

@colto:

Thanx, I depressed the meticulouse button, hehe.

@leroy:

Thanx for the encouragement. I think Ur probably doing ok, I see the LW learning curve as a Horizontal line that seems to go on forever, but eventualy, everything seems to click and U go into an upward curve. Keep going buddy. U can do it.

The skin texture was kindly given to me by Pi Song, and is a procedural of his own making. Have messed with it for the next pic, to give the character pale skin :)

Hi,

@kumar:

No can do, they need to be where they are, so that then he makes a fist, he can stab with them.

Here is Trick or Treat Pete ready for rigging:

He uses the things on his back to pin his victims every Halloween.

I have had some trouble making the back finger things retract or fold into his back.

I made a Morph in modeler and had them retract into his back nicely, but when I go into Layout, this won't work properly due to bone/weight influences.

I realise that I could pose them in modeler, and make Morphs, but would have to use the same pose in Layout everytime they are retracted.

If anyone has any ideas on how I can do this from any pose position in Layout with bones active, please let me know.

Thankyou so much.

I think his face looks a bit soft right now. Perhaps a scar or facial hair to really make him look like a guy?

kumar 03-05-2004 12:06 AM

Hmm,, ok,, as for the problem... try to get weight maps and attach the weight maps to the respective bones... That should do the trick.

Hi,

@leroy3d:

Thankyou. Ur so rite. I'll get rite on that as soon as I have rigged him.:)

@kumar:

Oh, I have done that. Is part of the problem, as the Morphs won't work properly due to the weight map influence. I always use weight maps, hehe.

Thanx for posting guys.

Presumably the spider legs are him in his Trick mode - so will he have a Treat mode as well where he turns into a cute widdle bunny wabbit?

Fallenswordsman: hahahaha lol! :D

daveythegravy 08-05-2004 10:04 AM

Hi,

@Fallenswordsman:

U are so funny. Well, his name is given, kinda like a local Urban Legend, coz he only strikes at Halloween, and only kills Trick or Treaters, hehe.

@leroy3rd:

hahahahaha, yeah, so funny.

Here is the Finished Character. He may be having a run in with Little Angel very soon.

Nice, dark character you've got there, Davey. If he's meeting up with Little Angel, I hope he's not too inflammable. It'll be like a Stephen King-alike character fest! You could even borrow your wife's clown character and set him alight too!
