May/June - Noob - R4s1n

I'm entering this challenge for the fun of it. Need some extra practice on organic objects. My sea creature is going to be a type of Medusa with some futuristic things. Still brainstorming in my head how it will look in the end.
Here is some progress on what i have so far. The splines are going to be the tentacles. |

And the last for today.

very cool start, maybe make those tentacles a bit thicker!?!
|
The flat tentacles or the round ones?
|
the round ones!

Looks pretty cool are you going to animate this?

Latest Render testing out some transparency on the Medusa.
I'm not sure about animating because its hard for me to get the mesh flowing with the bones. I can put the bones in, i can set all weights, but i can't get it to follow. |
I'm always a sucker for a cool render
As far as animation goes, probably just some subtle flowing movement would be enough. I can picture it with an animated water texture on a dim spotlight. This could end up totally rockin'! |
Thanx SwankyMonkey! I'm gonna need to watch a few vids on how Medusas move around.

Howdy R4s1n! Love the blue render! Are you going to add more colours? A colour gradient set to incidence angle or surface thickness could work well on such a juicy, organic creation (plus maybe matching gradients in Luminosity)! Great stuff!

Nice render!
I love the color. Actually I love anything blue! Talking about brainstorming, I just imagined a large brain inside that thing. ~~CM! |
