Pouring Water filling a glass
I want to do an animation of water pouring into a fish boul which fills up then to have a fish swimming around i have created a fish and a fish bowl how can i achieve the water type effect i want
|
I think you can make the boul a Collision Object and use Particles to fill it. But i havn't tryed this method for myself yet.

i think he wouldn't spend that much money for a just-for-fun animation ;)
I think RealFlow runs in DEMO mode if you downlaod it. But i don't know if you can save or import/export in DEMO. |
Nope would not pay that i was thinking collisions and particle emmitters no idea how to do collision though and cold not get particle to look good as water
|
well RealFlow uses Particles and your Boul as collision object :P
Open the ObjectProperties Window for your Boul and add a FX_Colission to it and make the type 'object'. Make an Particle Emitter and use Hypervoxels (Object Type: Volume) Maybe Phil can make a little tutorial on howto fill a glass with water using particles. :D |
I think Realflow uses particles for the simulation, then exports a polygon object sequence for the water back to lightwave. You just surface this object to look like water.
There's a discussion on cgtalk about different ways of creating water here |
Theres a demo of how to do pouring water out of a glass in "Inside Lightwave 7" on page 963.
But its using Hypervoxels and the water does look a little globular but maybe the principal is the same. |
That's what i got with particles:

Neo,
Can't read the file? DivX reports that the file contains no known video data. (Using DivX 5.0.3) |

Hi Mark
I think this will clear why Divx won't play it :) Cheers |
quote myself: (XviD Codec required)
and not DivX :P get AngelPotion Codec Pack and you won't have any problems viewing videos. |
Ahh, now I see. Misread the original post. Although when I checked out the AngelPotion codec at Digital Digest (http://www.divx-digest.com/software/apcodec.html) I see that they've removed the codec from their download area due to compatibility problems.
However, I did manage to find a copy at another site, but after installing it, all I see is a black video frame... |
You may try Nimo Codec Pack 5 Build 7. However i replaced the video with a DivX5 video.
|
Ah-ha. Success. Cheers Neo.
The water looks good, but there's a tendency for it to look a little like molten glass as it's running. I'd be tempted to alter the thickness of the stream and maybe add a twist or some other turbulence to the particles to help break up the refraction pattern. (If this is possible - I've not played too much with HVs).. |
