Spline Patches are my enemy

Hey,
Im currently on Video 3 of the McLaren series and i just cant seem to figure out how phil does his spline patches. Some turn out ok, but some seem to be only viewable from looking underneath at the car and some do not split in the right direction. Phil has me starting with the setting 1 Perpendicular and 2 parellel. any help would be great.

Thanks!
Dave

I believe this question was asked before, and aswered by Mark:

The way the patching works depends very much on the order in which you select your splines.

The first spline you select determines which direction will be parallel (ie: which set of polygons run along the spline) and which direction will be perpendicular (ie: which set of polygons run away from the spline).

As to the polygons appearing transparent, this depends on how you've selected the splines - as a rule of thumb, always select the splines in a clockwise fashion to patch (like selecting points to manually create a polygon). However, the direction that the splines run in also has a bearing on the direction the polygons will face.

The simple answer is to simply select the 'transparent' polygons and flip them. Then they'll become visible.

Yeah, Sorry Mark, i'll look more thoroughly next time for this kind of thing. I just did a quick skim before. So far so good on the McLaren, im sure there will be more questions though. ;)
