Default I need to texture without being affected by morphing

Ok so here is what I want to do. I'm not sure if this is possible.

I have a cube with a checkerboard texture.
In the middle of one of the faces of that cube I want a squarish mouth to open up. I am currently using morphs to do this. When you start to morph the polygons, the textures morph with those polygons (which is good in most cases). But, I want that texture board to stay the same, while still being able to morph a hole that opens up on the side (that's the mouth). I don't want to lose the integrity of the checkerboard pattern when the polygons morph

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Not sure exactly what you want (if you could provide an example), but you could try a weight map to control the texture, trouble is, the morph controls the object and that controls position of texture, if your map would be two maps one on cube, the other on mouth. You could also try making the mouth a separate object parented to the cube. texture it similarly and try that, not sure how it would look.
Hope this helps out some
