Remember this blast-from-the-past? I found a manual with the schematics at a thrift store and bought it right away. It has lived in my scanner ever since.
I am not the big Wing Commander fan here--I don't even like most of thier ships, but I like both thier frieghters. This Drayman is kind of a quickie. Ah, it was many a year ago I was escorting this lumbering, thing, through the galaxy. Enough reminisc, I want some C & C. I realize now It just doesn't have enough geometry... kinda hard to change at this point. And this is just the modeling; haven't done any maps yet. Anyone remember what color the thing was? If this was your model, how would you wrap it up from here? Thanks all. P.S Philip do not feel you must reply to this post. You have answered enough of my questions and there are more coming. ![]() |

excuse me for replying anyway :p
it looks like a great start; especially the cockpit is great. Now you only need to go in there and use stencil/bevel/smoothshift to make the whole body appear as if it's built from lots and lots of individual panels. Of course you could do this with a map, but if you're planning to show this from up close, actual modeling would be the better choice. Then you can use maps to give it some dirt and battlescars.
