Thumbs down Lightwave[8] delayed...

OK, it's official. NewTek couldn't make the Q4 shipping date.

All the skinny is here:

I don't think it is bad... but rather good.
They prefer to give quality than to release it on time. We all really want it but lets be patient.

Yep. Reading between the lines I think that Q1 is looking likely. After all, Chuck has stated elsewhere that they will be posting a full feature list shortly (like early Jan) and the new demo videos are available (you can get them either from the NewTek preview page or they're currently the top item on Flay.com)

BTW, if you haven't yet, take a look at the LightWave [8] videos at:

I get an error message when trying to run the demos (error with codec). Anybody out there having a solution?

Well, if you've installed the Tecsmith codec (required to view the videos) and its not working for you, then you can get quicktime versions of the videos from the Newtek ftp server:

Protocol: ftp
Server: gecko.newtek.com
Directory: /multimedia/LW8Demos/mov
Username: anonymous
Pasword: (send full email address)

Hope this helps
